Joel the Cat'z No Mercy Lesser Known ControlsOne of the coolest things about No Mercy is how simple the basic controls are (making it easy for newcomers to learn how to play), yet how fancy you can maneuver and do stuff once you know the controls. You may know some or most of these commands, but for those of you who never figured out how to put someone backwards on the corner, or how to borrow a teammates finisher, this is for you. Section 1: Cornerpost Craziness Slam
Your Opponents Head into the Corner (also the Outside
Guardrail): Set Up
Opponent for Back Grapple in Corner: Tree
of Woe: Tree
of Mirth: Second
Rope Moves: Top
Rope Dive Cancel: Section 2: Sunshine Happy Apron Wrestler on Apron, Opponent in Ring:
Springboard
Moves Into the Ring (Standing or Laying Opponent): Special
Grapple from Apron (hard to hit!): Wrestler in Ring, Opponent on Apron: Slam
Opponents Head into Cornerpost: Wrestler on Apron, Opponent Outside: Diving
Attack from Apron: Running
Diving Attack from Apron: Wrestler in Ring, Wants to Get to Apron: You can run and get on the apron in
one continuous motion- just hit Section 3: Get Some Air (it's free, after all) Dives: Standing
Dive: Running
Dive 1: Running
Dive 2: Over the Ringpost Dive (useful for hitting the Flying Space Tiger): Press
towards the corner, hit Cool Thing: The only way to get any variation the tag team on-the-shoulders maneuver is to experiment with dives outside the ring. You can do some sick stuff this way! Running Dive Taunt: Section 4: Grand Theft Wrestle- Stealing Moves
All move thefts can be done only while you're on special, although I could swear that I've stolen a ground move while not on special. Stealing moves adds to the fun of a heated feud, and can help in submission matches if you have few moves to make your opponent tap with. Taunt Theft: Grapple Thievery: Steal Opponent's Front Special: Steal
Teammate's Front Special: Steal
Opponent's Back Special: Steal
Teammate's Back Special: Steal
Opponent's Front Corner Special: Steal
Teammate's Front Corner Special: Steal
Opponent's Back Corner Special: Steal
Teammate's Back Corner Special: Apron Special moves are probably stealable from opponent or teammate. I didn't get to test due to the move difficulty. Getting Them While They're Down: Steal
Opponent's Ground Special (or normal move if they don't
have one): Section 5: Gim McMatches
Cage Matches: Leapfrog / Dropdown (sends opponent
into cage if close enough to ropes): Slam
Opponents Head into Cage: Dive
Off Cage Wall with Elbow: Get
Over the Top: Cage
Climb Cancel: Diving
Attempt to Stop Climbing Opponent: Ladder Matches: Grab Briefcase / Belt: Spear Opponent while Dangling From
Belt: Royal Rumble / Battle Royal Let CPU take control: For Survival Mode Hints, Check the Survival Guide! Section 6: "Just Keep Me There, I Rather Like It" The "Job" Button Press This is a lot more useful than it seems! There's the fun factor of selling a particularly sick spot; there's the confusion in your opponents eyes after you decide to let X-Pac Bronco Bust you for a whole minute, and there's the usefulness of losing matches in Championship mode so you can get different paths. So go ahead, give your opponent a "job"! C-Section: Closing Hope this was useful. If you want to know how to do something complex, that's not in here, send me an e-mail at joelthecat@hotmail.com (my e-mail has changed!! joelthecat@your-house.com no longer works!). I will attempt to update accordingly. Have fun playing! All text is copyright Charles Cruz, 2001. Please do NOT steal or use on another site without my permission.
